Carson was in town over the weekend, and he and Luis and I rented a boat and went boating for a few hours.  Fort Lauderdale is such a gorgeous city, but even more so from the water.  Most of these photos were taken while we were boating on the New River, which runs from the ocean, up through town, and on into the Everglades to the west.  It was a gorgeous morning, and we had tons of fun.

You've Got Mail

I love this mailbox in the shape of a manatee.  I have yet to see an actual manatee here in southern Florida, but I have seen a few signs that warn people to be aware that manatees are in the area.  Did you know that manatees are also known as "sea cows"?  I hope to see one here in the wild, because they really look cute in photos.  Plus I love these mail boxes.

Martha's Vineyard is one of those places I have always wanted to go, and it was such a treat to be able to fly ourselves there in our own plane.   An absolutely gorgeous, unique and really special place.

A Very Happy Luis

This photo of Luis was taken as we were flying somewhere over upstate New York on our cross country trip from Minneapolis to Boston to visit our family there.   It was a fabulous trip, and we have wonderful memories and some good photos too.  Hope we can do it again some time, except next time we will be flying from Florida.

Gorgeous Fall Colors in family backyard in Boston

It's hard to believe these colors are real -- they were so pretty it almost felt like they were painted on the trees.  I guess it is getting close to that time of year again.  The colors are much prettier in person.  Enjoy!
